Forever young, I wanna be forever young.

In my research for all things (actually just fabric) fire retardant (but only with a certificate of compliance with local and state laws, please) I have run across some very odd companies.  Take, for instance, Forever Preserved, which I am pretty sure preserves palm trees and other shrubs so that they look real, but have been coated in something that stops decay.  This immediately made me think: Well, this is likely for pet palm trees. “Good bye, old friend” as you run your hand over the rough bark, and then it’s off to be dipped.

In Which I Am Made Self Aware, And Buy Some Food

I write for the 484th most popular website in Sudan.  It is also the 711th most popular website in Qatar! This website which you are reading right now, by comparison, is the 4,017,342th most important website in the world.  Up 400 percent in the past three months!

I got a bag of quinoa from the bulk foods section of Whole Foods today. It had a hole in the very bottom, I didn’t notice. I filled this bag up, up, up to the tippy top, like 3 or 4 pounds of this stuff. I walked slowly up to the front registers, and placed my bag on the conveyor belt, noticing the bag was dripping a few. I look behind me, and as far back as I can see, quinoa seeds everywhere, all the way back to bulk foods. I apologise profusely, and this guy is looking at me like, “You absolutely have to be effing kidding me you did not just make my life worse than it already was by spilling the tiniest seeds known to mankind all over forty feet of this place.” and I evaded his gaze and tromped out of there, downhearted.

I love whole foods. (I just typed I love whore foods!) Everything in there smells like lavender, they have the silliest most expensive food things you could ever find. They had every kind of kombucha! I bought some of their less expensive items, and made this totally boss dinner tonight. Come over sometime, dinner awaits.

Okay, this little barking dog next door might be the death of me, so I’m going to the gym to get away from it. Foul beast.

love,

Amanda Mae

Good Times Never Seemed So Good

I don’t have very good images, but when I was watching Lars and the Real Girl yesterday with my sister, I noticed that Bianca

lars03

looks an awful lot like Drew Barrymore in one scene of Fever Pitch.

Untitled-1

She looks really lively here, so it’s hard to explain, but in the scene, Drew is sitting on a bench staring placidly into space while Jimmy Fallon moons on about something or other. And the full outfit really DOES look like Bianca’s. Same vacant expression.
